Happy Anniversary President Obama but what have you done?

Today marks two years to the day that Obama took power. But what power does he have? I stop to ponder on this 2 year anniversary of his taking office. He promised hope. But how much do we really have? Was it jobs we should have been looking for, like we, I am, now. How hard can it be to give the population a purposeful reason to get up in the morning? But it's the money that's the problem. That's the spoiler right there. How much sense does it make to go to work to manufacture things like cars and spend billions on bailing out cars, designed to keep you in the tail chase, enslaved to provide far too much more for too few and gluttonously even harmfully more than the essentials of life?

Food, water, ecosystems are something all living organisms require. Just ask any of the 5,000 birds washed up on the shores of Georgian Bay, not a dead one, one that's close to death but just look in their eyes and try to read their minds. Maybe if we would stay where we're at and stop spreading our virusish selves all over the globe we might keep things in a little balance for a few more decades, maybe.

Sustainability is essential. The indirect way of doing this, which is orchestrated to generate revenue and excess for those setting the rules in the game of life, is unsustainable, destructive and unnecessary. We need to escape the restraints that money brings by abolishing money or at the very least re-visit it's warped structure and focus on doing what we all can do individually to achieve our necessities collectively as one; doing for those who cannot do for themselves and doing all that we can for our selves and others.

I am one of the 99% that presently represent the all but extremely wealthy percentile. But I also am one of a different 1% that lives with 99% more than the rest of those living beings that live in suffering. Unnecessary suffering. Whatever percentage I am I am 100% sure we can be doing much better than this.

One has to wonder if politics is the solution. Or the problem. And if we are the government, then is it us who is the problem?

You're looking pretty cute today, by the way! ;)

A Poem for My Blog-Readers

Space and time
Has brought us together
For a moment or two
And my wish for you
Is Love and Peace
And an end to war
And suffering of
All living things on
This precious planet
Our only one
Speak kindly
Do good
And help if you can
For that is why
We’re here
We are the change
Of hope
