$$$ Saving Tips

I guess I should blog about something, but what? I am happy to say that I am no longer a blushing blog virgin, as this is my second entry. I guess this is the honeymoon blog! Fitting, as I'm blogging from the honeymoon capital of the world..... Niagara Falls (Canada eh!) Kinda of a belated honeymoon at that as I lost my password, forgot my user name, couldn't find my way back here until today, but here I am. Wondering what to blog about. Let's see... Hmmm... boring, boring, I know this is boring, but oh yeah, I can give you some good money saving tips that have worked for me. Let's see if I can help you save some money. Everybody could use more money, right? Hey, if you have any good money saving tips for me, I'd be glad to hear them. But for me, I have to say that I save A LOT of my money by buying from thrift stores. I have found items that still have the tag on them and it costs only a fraction of the cost at the department stores. Also, I only buy what's on sale, and I buy a lot of it and put away the best buys in the pantry in the basement. Sounds simple but I never used to do it before. You're better off to buy what's on sale then arrange your menus around that as opposed to thinking, oh I feel like lasagna tonite and go out a spend too much. Get rid of your dryer! I save money by not using a dryer, just hang your clothes up in a handy area that can handle the extra humidity.

I bought a water ionizer too so I am not spending money on bottled water and having to lug water home all the time. It sits on the counter and you can alter the pH which is handy as acidic water is good for cleaning glass and stuff, and the alkaline water is good for drinking. The filters last a long long time too! I save a Tim Horton's double-double for a treat on Sunday and make a home brew the rest of the week.

Also, I always buy my gas at Canadian Tire. That Canadian tire money adds up and here we also get coupons for the local grocery store Sobeys which I only use if they're having a sale. There are on-line coupon sites that allow you to print up coupons!

If you haven't heard of Kijiji buy and sell on-line auction yet, check that out as I've bought and sold quite a few things since I discovered it a couple of weeks ago. If you don't know, it's an Ebay offspring that is for your local area. Kijiji means "village" in Swahili. Neat! Very easy and easier than Ebay as you don't have to worry about shipping and Paypal and stuff.

I hooked up that old ariel outside and now I get about 12stations for free! I know I don't get hundreds of stations, but I always have something good to watch. Oh and look on the floor! You'd be surprised how lazy people are to pick up pennies, nickels and dimes. O.k. so maybe it's only gotten me a free coffee over the last year but so what? And if you don't have Optimum cards and Air miles or whatever, get it as I know a lot of people don't bother but I redeem those points for free groceries, etc.

Well, glad to meet you and don't be a stranger. Let me know about yourself if you feel like it. Now that I found my way back maybe I'll update this blog more often, (if I don't get lost again!) Hopefully I'll try to come up with something more read-worthy next time! So take it easy and come on back now, ya hear?

A Poem for My Blog-Readers

Space and time
Has brought us together
For a moment or two
And my wish for you
Is Love and Peace
And an end to war
And suffering of
All living things on
This precious planet
Our only one
Speak kindly
Do good
And help if you can
For that is why
We’re here
We are the change
Of hope
Imagine
